I need everyone to know just how broken our system is.
I spent 6 years applying for NDIS support. This year I have been turned down twice. Their argument?I cannot prove after 25 years on disability that my injuries are permanent. In the past four months I have ended up on permanent oxygen, with multiple organ failure. I barely leave my flat and have to rely on friends to help take my bins out, take me to do shopping and housework.
So after damaging my back, two bilateral lung transplants, 12 years of my life on an oxygen hose, throat cancer, shoulder cancer, a ruptered quad tendon amonst other injuriesand now having to drag around an oxygen bottle when ever attempting toleave my house. I am not disabled enough to obtain any assistance.
It took two months for the hospital social worker to submit a referal to the ENU extreme needs unit, they have taken several months to access the application, the same with palative care.Of which Im still waiting to hear back from. The NDIS Tribunial took several months to contact me with a date when their lawyer told me I cannot prove my disabilities are permanent based on one GP letter three years ago saying I was coping with 65% lung capacity. I have now contacted the Human Rights Commision to place acomplaint against every government organisation that has circle jerked me for the past 6 years including the hospital that has misdiagnosed me twice this year. To be told they have no power other than mitagotiate between parties.
I want everyone to know exactly what sort of country thier living in and how incompetant the government is.
Today I was informed by allied health that I have too much savings to help with funding towards an airconditioner. Even though my bank account is empty. I am informed i can sell my car to pay for the airconditioner even though the vehicle doesnt work and that I must take a hit on selling it to pay for it myself.I need to spend atleast $1500 before I can advertise the car. So from now on every time it hits 30 degrees Im calling the ambulance when I cant breath to spend the timein thehospital with aircon and passing the bill to allied health. Im now atempting to start leagal action.
The real kicker. The tribunial has postponed action for another three months to obtain further information leaving me without asistance. my first phone call after the meeting wasto my advocate I said are these people fukn insane.
this is what disabled people put up with every day in this cuntry.
