Interesting Perspective.
My view point is all this depends on what the emergency is, if you have any where to go, etc.
Id have enough stored at home and stay in place until its clear to leave. Where Im located the highways would be choked within hours. After that first tier of supplies fails which it will Id rely on mobility. However you can carry only so much food, fuel etc.All this would depend on having a piece of land with good soil to plant in and a water supply. When my meds run out Im done. I try and have 6 months of meds stored. Mobility in vehicles depends on fuel ? If Ive stored 4 jerry cans of fuel thats a full tank of gas along with whats already in the tank. That gets me from one capital city to another. Then it depends on taking from other vehicle fuel tanks and if the pump tanks can be accessed.
Only 33% of the nation voted for labor you dick its not an endorsement. Inverters last 10 years, solar panels last 30 years, solar curtails this year, wind turbines last 25 years. All of these require a full running poweer grid to support them. Coal from this country is shipped to China to build the turbines and the panels. We can run gas turbine power stations for bugger all since the government sell gas over seas for something stupid like 3 cents a litre. We should be looking into thorium reactors much safer than plutonium. Try a two tier approach use gas until thorium reactors are built. The lithium mines are more distructive then coal mines.
